Building an interactive menu for learning disability resources

Individuals with learning disabilities and ADHD can find it particularly difficult to make online searches and find the information they are looking for regarding support services. This is an extremely concerning issue, as it can prevent those with disabilities from obtaining the help and support they need. Information about such services are often scattered across the web, and the variety of services available can be extremely overwhelming for users who do not know exactly what they are looking for.

In this project, we worked with Collin Diedrich and  the Learning Disabilities Association of Pennsylvania to solve this problem. Using HTML, CSS, and Javascript, we implemented a free public directory of services tailored for people with learning disabilities (and their families) to easily find learning disability-focused services in their area. This interactive menu will be a useful extension to the organization’s website (www.ldaofpa.org), as it will allow users to easily input basic information about their experience and struggles, and get personally redirected to the correct services.
